Multiplying

Pics:

2. Prayer Marching: raising a flag as a signal for the nations: your King is coming! (Isaiah 62:10-11)

God is doing big things in our team and we would love if you would join us in prayer. Here is all that He is doing:

1. Last weekend, the team spent a majority of Saturday and Sunday warfare praying around the Salem Oaks/ Los Arcos area. We asked God to reveal anything that we need to know that may help us know specifically what to pray against and what sin issues we  will be dealing with. As we go in and conquer this land that God so badly desires, please join us in praying that we would have the eyes of Christ so that we can supernaturally lift curses and take the burdens from these people that are blinding them from knowing the love of Jesus Christ. Also, pray that we can bind Satan from the various warfare sins that are happening so that he does not distract us in the work God has called us to do in these peoples' lives.

2. The team that will be living in Los Arcos started the moving process late last week. The Evers are slowly moving everything there and getting their family set up. The girls have a majority of their things moved into their apartment; the boys can not move in until around March 6. Please pray that the moving process continues to go smoothly and that everything happens in God's timing, as the girls need the boys to be around there  as much as possible simply for safety reasons. Pray that connections can already start to be made and that moving can get done in a timely, efficient manner.

3. Please pray that in the midst of all the chaos and changes, that each of us will hold tight to the truths of God. Pray that as a team, we will not lose our vision or get distracted by all the new things going on. It's important for each of us to stay rooted in God's word and spend time praying each day. With the moving, changes in leadership, and daily schedules going on, it can be easy to focus on the next steps and forget that none of this is possible without God!

Servant Saturday (more pics)

Deep cleaning with a happy heart!

Servant Saturday

Pictures:
1.Volunteers gathering to pray to start of the morning
2. Visiting families
3. Bible stories
4. New friends

On Valentine's day about 45 volunteers from Sugar Creek Baptist Church, including several families, spent the morning serving the community with us.

Several groups visited homes of our disciples, sharing the love of Christ and being encouraged by their mutual faith even though they didn't speak the same language.

Other groups split up to help with deep cleaning the Keystone Academy among other service projects.

These volunteers brougt life and light, both physically and spiritually, and were a blessing both to our team and to the individuals and families of the community they had the opportunity to interact with.

A few first time connections were also made as volunteers entered new homes with the message of the gospel. One father said, "I feel like God has visited my home this morning."

Pray for this man and his family as our team begins to follow up with them.

Pray also for the volunteers who came out that they may recognize how the Spirit desires to work through them within their own circle of neighbors and friends.

Prayer March this Weekend

Out with the old, in with the new:

Join us?

This Saturday and Sunday (Feb. 14-15) we'll be prayer marching through key sights of strongholds in the Salem Oaks area.

So far we've been spying out the land. Now it's time to go to war.

How you can be involved:

If you're in the Houston area and available, we'd love to have you marching with us.

If not, will you consider joining us through fasting and prayer?

For more information, contact Katie:

Photo: Team around the banner we'll be lifting up over the peoples as we march this weekend and later hang outside one of our apartments at Los Arcos (see Isaiah 62:10). We believe God has called us to awaken Salem Oaks to him as the One true King. Praise God! He will do it!

New Name

Isaiah 62:2

"...and you shall be called by a new name that the mouth of the Lord will give."

We've been studying Isaiah 62 to understand what God is doing in the Brays Oaks district of Houston.

This weekend on retreat we spent time brainstorming and praying together as a team to seek out the new name the Lord is giving to this area of the city.

From now on we'll be referring to it as Salem Oaks.

Salem is a Hebrew word meaning wholeness, completeness, and peace. Biblically, Salem was the name of an ancient city which later became Jerusalem. Melchizadek, the legendary priest-king of Salem, is identified with Jesus by the writer of Hebrews who calls him "king of righteousness" and "king of peace" (see Genesis 14 and Hebrews 7).

Christ is king of Salem Oaks. He wants to bring the more than 20 different nations we've found represented in the area into his kingdom of peace - heart, soul, mind, and strength. He is sending us there so that he may wake them up, call them out of slumber and death, into the life and light found only in his presence.

"Arise, shine, for your light has come and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!"

Here are a few pics from the retreat:

We are currently enjoying relaxing together in the presence of the Lord, working on a banner to raise over the city proclaiming the new thing that God is doing, all in the beautiful peace and quiet of nature.

See previous posts for how to continue in prayer for us on this retreat (through Sunday afternoon).

Also, be looking for an update soon about how you can be praying more directly with us next weekend.

Retreat... Battle Plan

This weekend we'll be going in a retreat to rest and be renewed following an intense month of spiritual research over the Brayes Oaks district of Houston.

We'll also be praying through the information we've compiled to make a battle plan for next weekend's prayer march through key sights in the area.

Pray for us as we take a break from the front lines and regroup for the charge!

Pictures to follow!
